How did this come to our attention?

The need for environmental preservation became evident as we witnessed increasing deforestation and the gradual disappearance of green spaces in both urban and rural areas. While traveling through barren landscapes, the stark contrast between thriving forests and empty, degraded land sparked a conversation within our team. We realized there was an opportunity for everyday individuals to make a difference with minimal effort.

This insight led to the creation of the Seed Ball Initiative, offering a simple, scalable solution to restore greenery in areas where it had been lost. Our collective desire to promote reforestation, even in hard-to-reach or neglected spaces, inspired this program and continues to drive its success today.

At Sri JanaJagarana Trust, we recognize the urgent need to protect our environment for future generations. Our Preservation of Environment initiative is dedicated to conserving natural resources, promoting sustainable practices, and raising awareness about environmental challenges in communities across Karnataka.

We focus on a variety of activities aimed at reducing environmental degradation, such as tree planting drives, waste management programs, and water conservation efforts. By collaborating with local communities, schools, and organizations, we aim to instill eco-friendly habits and create green spaces that contribute to a healthier, more sustainable environment.

Additionally, through workshops and awareness campaigns, we encourage individuals to adopt practices like reducing plastic usage, conserving water, and supporting renewable energy initiatives. Together, we are committed to building a greener, more sustainable world for the well-being of all.

Sri JanaJagarana Trust has introduced an innovative and eco-friendly approach to environmental preservation through the Seed Ball Initiative. This simple yet impactful method empowers individuals to contribute to reforestation and environmental restoration wherever they go. We create small seed balls made from a mix of seeds, soil, and natural compost, which can be thrown onto barren or empty land while traveling or during daily routines.

Once the seed balls land, nature takes its course. When it rains, the seeds inside the ball take root in the soil, growing into plants or trees over time. This effortless reforestation method ensures greenery spreads in neglected areas, contributing to the environment without extensive intervention.

So far, we have distributed and deployed over 60,000 seed balls, taking a step towards widespread reforestation. This initiative fosters community-driven environmental preservation, allowing everyone to participate in nurturing our planet and leaving behind a lasting, green legacy.
