How did this come to our attention?
Sri JanaJagarana Trust came into existence when a group of dedicated individuals from Mysuru noticed the struggles faced by underprivileged children and marginalized communities. Their shared vision of creating a better future through education, healthcare, and empowerment inspired the foundation of the trust. They aimed to provide the much-needed support for those overlooked by society, ensuring that every child and family had access to the opportunities they deserved.
Our journey began in 1978, driven by a deep awareness of the community’s critical needs. Fueled by a commitment to create meaningful change, we have evolved over the decades from a modest initiative into a beacon of hope. Today, Sri JanaJagarana Trust is dedicated to transforming lives and empowering individuals through education and support.

Sri JanaJagarana Trust’s Grama Vikasa program is another impactful initiative, focusing on rural free learning centers across 391 villages. These centers, one in each village, serve as vital education hubs for 12,500 underprivileged children. With the support of 750 dedicated teachers, Grama Vikasa provides quality education, mentorship, and comprehensive development opportunities in rural areas, similar to the Kalika Kendras.
Looking to the future, the Trust has set an ambitious goal to expand the Grama Vikasa initiative to 800 villages, potentially benefiting 50,000 children. To accommodate this growth, the Trust plans to increase the number of teachers to 2,000, ensuring that every rural center has the resources needed to uplift and educate the children it serves.
Through Grama Vikasa, Sri JanaJagarana Trust is not only delivering education but also transforming rural communities by equipping children with the tools for a brighter future. This expansion will lay the groundwork for greater educational access and empowerment across Karnataka’s rural landscape.
