Our attention was drawn to the pressing needs within our community through firsthand experiences and observations. Recognizing significant gaps in support for vulnerable groups, we saw an opportunity to address these challenges effectively.
Driven by a commitment to bring about real, tangible change, we began developing initiatives aimed at making a substantial impact. This collective effort laid the foundation for the impactful work we continue to pursue today.
At Sri JanaJagarana Trust, we are deeply committed to empowering communities through self-reliance initiatives. Our focus is on equipping individuals with the skills and opportunities they need to build sustainable livelihoods. Through various programs, we provide training and support to marginalized communities, enabling them to become financially independent and self-sufficient.
Our Self Help Groups (SHGs) are at the heart of this effort, fostering financial independence through small-scale or microfinance initiatives. These groups empower individuals, particularly women, by offering access to savings, loans, and financial literacy, which helps them start or expand small businesses and improve their economic stability.
We also run an Agarbathi Packaging Unit, where participants receive hands-on training in packaging and production. This initiative not only provides a stable income but also enhances the participants’ skills in the local industry, making them more employable in the long term.
Additionally, our Tailoring Centre offers specialized training in sewing and tailoring, providing participants with the tools to start their own businesses or secure employment in garment manufacturing. This initiative has transformed lives, enabling individuals to generate income and support their families.
Together, these initiatives are helping individuals achieve self-reliance, fostering a sense of dignity and independence while contributing to the social and economic development of their communities.
